Day 16 - Maximize Your Productivity

Have you ever found yourself in front of your computer, taking a look at the watch and not understanding how the time passed by so fast? The internet is so full with information we find ourselves wasting valuable time on unnecessary information. By being our own bosses we also let ourselves slake a little bit, visit Facebook and Twitter, play bobbles and waist valuable time. Moreover, while working from home you can also get distracted by your surrounding – kids, pets, noises and more. It took me some time to find my way to make that separation between my time and my work time, between my personal life and my work, between useful information and wasting time.

Today I will give you a few tips about how to maximize your productivity when you work from home.

First of all, you need to understand that although you work from home and your schedule is flexible it’s still work and if you want to succeed in this you will have to treat it  like a real job, where you have to prove yourself.

Secondly, you will have to decide how much time you are willing to put into this work, if you do this part time, think of how much of your free time you are willing to put into this. If you do this full time, you will need to decide if you are going to give more time than you would usually spend on a job. In any case, you will have to understand that in the beginning and until you will be able to get the ‘work from home’ business to work you will need to spend a lot of time working. You will also need  to take to consideration the fact that you can’t over work yourself because it will tire you really fast and might make you give up. In the beginning I found myself sitting in front of the computer 14 to 18 hours strait, my mind was raising with ideas, thoughts and new information but after two weeks I woke up and just couldn’t get myself to the computer, I spent two days lying on the couch watching TV and feeling exhausted. I decided that I will work about 10 hours a day, 8 of them on the computer and 2 hours I will work offline doing job related tasks that did not require computer work. So decide how much time you are going to spend working while giving yourself enough free time to tend to your duties and relax.

Thirdly, Decide exactly what you are going to work  on, as we recommended in the check list, don’t take on more than three things at the same time. Focus yourself on the things you think you can do best and that you already have knowledge about. If you have a lot of ideas write them down,  once one of your projects are established enough and does not require more than half an hour of maintenance you can move on to another idea you had.

Fourthly, take the three tasks and think how much time each one requires, write down a schedule for your basic work-day. For example, if I decided to work for 8 hours and I have a blog, a site and immediate making money gig My work day will be as followed:

1 hour – making money gig

2 hours- writing for my blog and maintaining it.

5 hours – working on my new site.

As you can see the time is divided unevenly because I know that creating my site is the most difficult task- I need to gain more knowledge, create traffic and more.

So now you are focused, you have your time planned right, but you go to the web and you need to learn how to create a website for example. You find yourself after five hours you subscribes to three different newsletter that offered you free stuff for your website, you have a lot of great tips about how to create a successful site but you are not even a step closer to creating it.  Why? because instead of learning the basic technical stuff you need to know you got lost in all the irrelevant information. How to avoid it? Before you go online just think about what you really need to know, search for it on the web – choose one source of information and start implementing what you’ve learned, if the source of information wasn’t good just move on to the next one but no matter what don’t let yourself get distracted from the specific task you gave yourself. If you are good under pressure make a check list of tasks and give each one a dead line.

Just follow the rules in this article and each day you will get a little bit better at managing time from home!

Day 11- Making money with Facebook

If you don't know what Facebook is  you probably don't have a computer ! Facebook is a successful social networking site, through it you can connect with people that have the similar interests as you. It is a really great way to promote products, advertise and more. when I first heard someone say that you can make money with Facebook I was a little shocked, I mean I've been using it for about four years and only now I find out I can actually make money with it??? Well, it's not that easy and like everything else you do, you need to invest, time, effort and creativity - here are the ways to make money with Facebook in a really general way.

Before you sign up you have to think of what you want to achieve and which people you want to attract to your profile. It means you don't have to be yourself ! The goal is to become an expert in the topic of your choosing. 

After you develop your profile and get known on the area you chose there are a couple of things you can do: 

1. Sell on the Marketplace -You can place ads in the Marketplace for free without limitation of the number of ads. So If there are products you want to promote, or you found stuff on e-bay that are related to your niche you can post them there and sell them. 
2. Promoting your site with Social Ads - If you have a website you want to promote you can promote it with Social Ads. Facebook is not currently charching any more for ads that contain a social call to action, although a recent Nielsen report claimed that almost 70% of users are more likely to click on an ad previously visited by friends. In addition these ads will appear in a users friend's newsfeed.It’s important to keep in mind that Facebook is still social media, and so marketing efforts should be information and value driven, because the goal is to appeal to them not to “hard-sell”.

I created a fan page for my blog and I have some people sign to it, not many yet, but I think that in time I will learn more about how to attract people to the site, I think I already posted about how to create a fan page so you can take a look at the archive. You can also connect your blog to your facebook page so that every time you post on your blog it will come out as a note on your facebook page.

Day 9 - Get Rich Fast?

Hey Everyone, 

Today I will write a shorter post about the affiliate gurus and all the other advertisements about making 300$ a day in five minutes. Well if you read my blog so far you would know that I've just started this whole making money online mission. Before I started writing the blog I looked around, did a lot of research and read a lot of false promises. I also found out that once you start searching these things out online you are bound to get tempted and press on those ads about the stay at home mom who started making 345$ a day in less than two weeks. After you press on the ad you get to a squeeze page that tempts you to buy this product which usually worth 20,000$ but you will get that and more for just 40$ and this formula you will get is bound to make you rich fast! 

Sounds AMAZING right? Well, those gurus would never read this so I'm not really worried about what I'm going to say next. After about a month of 24/7 on the internet I have to say I'm just sick of it... Just because I know it's not possible, all I'm saying is don't fall for it and buy the stuff they sell you, they usually just give you a general over used ideas about online marketing without any of the essentials and technical stuff. Luckily I have a friend who has been in my situation and already made most of the mistakes, he told me not to buy those things because it never works, you just have to understand something and the sooner you get it the better. There might be some shortcuts along the way but in order to succeed in this you have to work hard for a while, try things and make mistakes .... You can't shortcut the whole learning process, if we could, we would all have been rich by now! 

Nonetheless, I do have respect for those guys and they might be who they say they are so here is a little tip, I sign in for their e mail list on the squeeze pages, get a lot of junk to one email that is maid just for them, they send me a lot of offers but since I've already resolved not to buy anything I dismiss them easily... 

WHY do I do it?  --- I learn from what they are willing to share, I learn about the right terms to use in affiliate marketing, the different sites and tactics that were used ect.. HOW? Well, those gurus send you a lot of junk but in order to make you stay on their list they give you bits of useful information just to get you curious...  I gather that information and try to create  a bigger picture. 

My recommendation is : If you decide to try and learn from them don't buy anything. Get the information they give you and try to screen out all the 'marketing' so that all that is left is the little bit of information. If you like the tactics they use on you just try to learn that instead of the information they send, but most of all don't spend to much time on it, and don't let them discourage you!

Day 8 - make money on e-bay

Hey guys, 

Sunday is here and for some of us it's the beginning of the week while to others it's still weekend, but for me it's another day of learning. So today we will talk about e-bay.This money making idea just like many others is not about selling your own personal items, at list not completely. It's about finding the right products on the market and then selling them on e-bay, I will explain it all in this post. 

So the first thing you need to know about e bay is that creating an account is free! After you go and create yourself a seller account at: register ebay you should learn a little bit about what it means to sell on e-bay, you can go to all the explenations they have over there but I will brief you up- for every product you want to sell above 0.99 cents there is an insertion fee, for every product you sell there is a sell fee of between 8 to 12 percent, some people say the fees are a little bit high. OK, so we learned about the fees and read a little bit about e-bay what should we do next? So the first thing you should do is get the feel of the system. This is a recommendation for everything you do in life, don't jump before you test the water! Sell some personal items to get the feel of selling on e-bay.

After you sold a few items and got the feel of things you can start making real money, but there are few steps that you should take to focus yourself. You make money on e-bay by creating a reputation for yourself, it is easier to create a reputation in one field then by selling random products.

First of all you should choose a category like movies, electronics, toys, art ect. You can sell a lot of different products under each category. Just think of something that interest you and that you would like to sell. You have to understand that in order to sell you will have to buy products, but don't worry ! There are ways to minimize the risk, we will get to that later.

So what product should you buy ? This is a big decision! You should look at the listings and see what is sold consistently, you don't want to try and sell a cold product. After you chose your product it's time to buy and sell !!

How to get stock? There are to main options wholesaler or dropshippers, to me it seems like the better option will be dropshippers, let me explain. The wholesaler option means you will have to pay for the stock before you sell it which will require you to have the money before the sale, you will also have to have room to store the products until you sell them. In other words is a risky option, on the positive side, you will be able to know exactly how much products you have in your stock and will not risk your reputation by selling something that run out. The dropshipper option is less riscky, you pay for the product only after the sale and you don't have to have storage room. A Dropshipper is the one who actually stores, packages and ships the actual products.In this option you will have to get updated with the dropshipper about the items you sell and make sure they are still in stock.You will probably have to pay a registration fee or some kind of one-time  payment to become a member. So to me it seems like it take a little more work but it will be less risky.

The last thing you need to do is to build your feedback - get your score up, you will do that by selling your products consistently in the category of your choosing. The more people will buy from you the fastest you will get to a Power-Seller status. This status require a minimum time of 3 months, and there are 5 levels you can get to.  The first one is bronze.

Day 6 - How to add a donation button to your Blog

Hey guys, 

So yesterday I signed up for PayPal. 

What is it? Well, it's an account that you have online, you link it to your credit card and than you can use this account while buying online instead of giving your Credit Card number and personal information every time you buy something online.

Why did I sign in?Because just like you can pay through PayPal you can earn money through it, you can add a ' Donation Button' to your site just like I did. If you will look at the right side of my blog today you will see a donation button. I know that there are not many chances that people will donate at this point, but hopefully there will come a time where more people will find this blog helpful and would like to donate. Moreover, you can never know what people will do once you give them the option to do so. Just like the donation button if you have a product you want to sell you can use your PayPal account to collect the money.

Day 3- Making sense out of AdSense

Hey everyone, 

Hope you had a great weekend and that you are ready to learn some more! 

As I wrote in one of my posts, beside promoting your blog which takes time and patience another thing to do after starting a blog is to make money from it! So today I will try to understand how ASense work and to maximize the amount of money you make from it. Again all the information I'm giving you is a simplified version of a lot of stuff that I read online. 

• What is AdSense? 

The program was developed by Google in order to increase the exposure to ads purchased through the Google AdWords program, which is a pay-per-click advertising program that people use to promote their websites.

When you sign up for the AdSense program, you will have access to codes that you can place on your site. The code will automatically choose ads that are relevant to your content and will be interesting to your website visitors, as well as providing tracking codes so that Google will know who to pay for the click.

• What are the amounts of money you can make with it?  

The commission you receive per click depends on how much advertisers are paying Google for the particular ad. You will earn a share of that amount.  I've heard of earnings anywhere from 2 cents to $15 per click. 

So practically the right way to use AdSense is to develop your site- add a lot of content to it so that you will move higher on the google search and than get more traffic, once you have more traffic the bigger the chance people will click on the ads by google. one more thing you have to do is to make sure the keywords you use are highly searched on the web, that way the ads google will put on your site will be worth more per click. 

It might sound easy, but truth be told from what I've heard it takes a lot of time, effort and patience.
