Day 15- General Time Managment

We all have calendars and we all write what we have to do somewhere, some of us work with cellphones, some with e-mails account and some with the classical hand written calendar. I tried working with all of these things but somehow I still didn't manage my time right, I always had to cancel meetings and appointments and all ways barely made it to the deadlines. So, I decided to create my own system based on my own needs. I've been working with this system for 3 years and it has been a life saver, I shared it with a lot of my friends who encountered the same problem and it really helped them. Today I will share this system with you.

The first step is to create a table on Excel, every row will be a day in your calendar, in the first row you will right the main categories of your activities.

For example in my table I have: Work/School | Important dead-lines | Free time| Doctors| Chores | work-out| Beauty treatments.

In everyday you will have all these categories to fill up (if you need to).

The Rules:
  1. After you set up the table you will take all the activities that you do on a regular basis and you will set them up in the table.
  2. Write only one task for each category in each day.
  3. Create a daily table - it could be on one of the calendars you were using before.
  4. Every day before you go to sleep, look at the big excel table and plan your day for tomorrow.
  5. plan the tasks you have by the closest dead-line.
  6. every time you get a new task or dead line insert it to the big table and plan the steps you will take in order to reach your dead-line.
  7. If for some reason the day didn't go out as planed don't panic, just rearrange the big table (that's what copy paste is for).

I know it might seem like making your life a little bit over planned but I assure you, you will find the time to just chill and do nothing, if you really hate being over planed you can always choose one day of the week to not be planned.

Day 13- Make money with Fiverr

Hey guys,

As promised this one is about making money, and truth be told this is the first time I'm actually making money online.
What is Fiverr?
Fiverr is a site that gives you a chance to make 4$ per order. In this site you will have to create "gigs". You write what you are willing to do for 5$ publish it and wait for people to order your service. Out of the 5$ they will pay, 1$ is a commission that the site takes.

How does it work?
Once you have your gig up and running people will be able to order from you. You will get notification to your e-mail for every order or message you get. When you create the gig you will have to write the estimated time it will take you to complete your order. Once an order is made you will have to deliver by the deadline you wrote. If not able to do so you will have another 24 hours before the client will be able to cancel his order without your permission. Once you deliver the complete work the client will approve it and the order will be marked as complete if the client does nothing the order will be marked complete automatically after three days. Once you complete an order the money is yours and after two weeks you will be able to withdrawal it or use it to order on Fiverr. As far as cancellation goes, there are a few ways to cancel an order, if you and the client both agree to cancel the order you just do it and all is well. If you decide to cancel it alone it will cost you in your rating.
How to choose a gig?
sounds easy right? well it basically is but here is the catch: You have to come up with a gig that will be worth 5$ for the clients but won't be too time consuming for you. Think about how much you are making right now and think about how many gigs you will have to do per hour to get to that payment. then divide one hour (60 minutes) by the number of gigs and you will find out what is the maximum time you will have to dedicate to each order. For example, although right now I'm doing nothing so basically every dollar I make is worth my time, I thought  about my last job where I made about 10$ - 12$ an hour. That means I will have to complete 3 orders per hour in order to make the same amount of money. If you divide 60 by 3 you will find that every order should take me about 20 minutes.

I recommend to go for something less time consuming and create a gig that will allow you to complete orders in less than 10 minutes. This way you will be able to make 24 $ per hour. Take into consideration that you will usually won't get more than 6-8 orders a day so this can't be your primary job or anything like that but it can definitely be  a way to make extra few bucks  everyday.

How to get orders?
As I said before,  the gig MUST be worth 5$ or more. If not  most people won't be willing to pay you. When you create the gig make sure you describe in an attractive that will make you sound professional in the area you chose. Add a relevant picture and most important add a video, the video usually make you sound more believable and attractive. Moreover, you should make sure you put the gig in the right category and write the right key words. Just think about the people who would be interested in a gig like yours and what would be the search words they would use. Make sure the work you provide is good and that the clients are happy so that their rating will be good. Don't worry if you get a few bad comments  if most of your clients are happy it won't make a difference since the  more orders you take the less a few bad rating will effect the rating percentage.

Another thing that I haven't figured out completely yet is how to get your gig to the first page and how to get featured. From what I understand the more positive ratings you get from your customers the better your position will be, I also read somewhere that once you get to 20 positive ratings you will get featured. I don't know if it's true or not, I'm only at 15 right now. I will let you know if it's true once I will get to 20. Once I figure out how to get my gig to the first page I will let you know. But even now when my gig is only at the second page in the video section I still get about 4-5 new orders each day.

My experience:

I created my gig 13 days ago, I already made 72$ and I have new orders in my pipeline worth 76$. Sounds nice right? The thing is , at first I put too much time in to every gig, and got so stressed about keeping my customers happy I wasn't sure if it was worth it.  another thing is that just after I created the gig and started getting orders I was shut down for about 4-5 days by my personal life. My initial deadline was 7 days, so I was left with 14 orders that I had to deliver in less than 24 hours. This time pressure made me create a more efficient system and finally I was able to deliver all the orders. After that I edited the deadline to 10 days, but I am trying to complete orders as fast as I can so I won't get into the same mess again.

These are my gigs:

Day 12 - Regroup

Hey guys!

I know I haven't written in a while, I had crazy and unpleasant two weeks and I just had to take a little time to regroup. And that is what I wanted to talk about today.
Sometimes you need to know when to let go for a while and just "lick the wounds".  I know everybody are saying the show must go on, and that you just need to keep going, I  agree but I think all things need to be done at the right time. We are not machines we can't just keep on going no matter what happens.

These last two weeks I decided to take everything easy, I thought pushing myself like I always do wasn't right. I still worked most of the day but I did the more simple things, the ones I didn't have to think a lot about, and the ones that made me feel comfortable. When life hits you you don't have to stop but you do have to slow down until you regain your balance. I did slow down and next week I'm planning to get back on track.
All I'm saying is push yourself to the limit all the time but always make sure to know where the limit is, sometimes we need to get it a little bit closer. These two weeks I had a few days that I just wanted to relax and clear my head and other days that I wanted to work and distract myself a little bit. I'm glad I did all of it and didn't push myself to hard, I might have wasted a little bit of time but to me it wasn't a waist. If I wouldn't have stopped by now I would have been completely ineffective.

Another recommendation, especially if you work from home is to get away for a day, you don't have to stop working just change the atmosphere, go and stay with relatives, rent an hotel room for the night. It will clear your mind and will help you focus and your work.

Day 7- Persistence

Hey everyone!

Well weekend is here again and in that spirit I will take a little rest from technical stuff and I will tell you about the last few days and about the most important thing in your way to success - PERSISTENCE.

"persistence is the twin sister of excellence. One is a matter of quality; the other, a matter of time"

Well, in the last few days I wasn't feeling very well, the whole making money on the internet thing over whelmed me a little bit. Every time I started to think that I have figured out a little bit of this huge thing called the internet another million questions pop and I discover there are a lot more steps I need to take before I even begin to try to make money.

Over whelmed by the internet and feeling ill, I found out two days ago at 11pm that I have to organize a room that became our 'storage room' so that someone could sleep there the next day. If you took one look at that room you would have thought that it was mission impossible! That's what I thought and I honestly had no idea how I was going to do it. I got into the room, looked at it, I thought that maybe I should plan it out a little bit before I start but then I figured that if I will think about it even a little bit longer I would just give up so I just started to take everything out of the room. In the end it didn't take much time to organize that room and make it hospitable.  I even got rid of a few unnecessary things  we just kept around for no good reason. I was pretty exhausted by the time I was done with the room. That night I planned to write a post and publish it the next day because I knew I won't have time to write one on Thursday. So I set down to write the post when I heard my mom panickally calling me, I went to the kitchen were I found my mom standing around a big pull of water that kept growing and growing. apparently our dishwasher was leaking!! So we had to draw all the water. In the middle of drawing all the water the power went off!
So here I am in the middle of the night standing  exhausted in the dark on a really wet floor ready to give up on it all.

You probably figured out that I didn't give up... I decided nothing will keep me from writing that post for my blog! So I fixed the power problem, dried the floor, took a deep breath and wrote the blog....
What does it have to do with persistence? Everything! If I would decide to slake anytime things aren't going my way I would end up nowhere. With that said, I think that we can allow ourselves to take a step back every once in a while, as long as it really is once in a while.

I except myself as a person who start things but not always finish them, I started learning how to play guitar and didn't really practice it, I start a diet every week but I don't really stick to it, I start to work out but I can't hold on to a routine long enough to call it a routine. I think most of us are like that but some just can't forgive themselves for that. But with this learning process I can't slake and I can't give up, this time I need to be PERSISTENT! I know that if I make it here I will have means to make my dreams come true. I guess what I'm saying is that for some people persistence it easier then to others, if you are like me than just find something that will keep you going, commit to something and let everybody know you are committed to it, once you do that it would be harder for you to give up and once you overcome a setback like I have these last few days you will become even more committed to the cause! And most of all don't be so hard on yourself...

Have a great weekend!

Day 4- exploring my options

Good morning everyone!

I apologize for not writing yesterday, I wasn't feeling well, I'm still not feeling really well but I can't let it bring me down right?

OK, so except blogging which we already explored a bit there are a lot of different money making options in the internet. Again, non of theme is a one- button- push thing, so don't believe all of those promotions about it ! If I ever find a one-button-push that can really get you a lot of money I promise I will let you know.

So I gathered a few cool options for making money online:

  1. Blogging - well I think we pretty much got this one covered.
  2. Ebay
  3. Free surveys
  4. Affiliate marketing
  5. Forex trading
  6. Facebook
  7. Selling E-books
  8. ClickBank
  9. Marketing CPA offers
  10. Google AdSense - we already talked about this one at: http://howtomakemoneywithnoskills.blogspot.com/2010/12/day-3-making-sense-out-of-adsense.html
  11. Building Niche Websites
I will look into each option in the next few days... but if you can't wait I encourage you to educate yourselves!

Day 2 - Motivation

Since it's Saturday and no one really wants to work or learn today I thought about talking about Motivation. I think it's the most important part of succeeding in anything you do, but at the same time it is the most slippery part. You can gain or lose you motivation easily.

Think about it, I started this blog yesterday, at first I got a lot of great responses which brought my motivation up and already made me think about what I was going to write about next. But than I got really not very supportive and skeptic responses from a lot of people who are closest to me. It was a hard blow, knowing that the people closest to me, the ones that are suppose to support me on everything I do didn't even try to understand what I was trying to do here. It saddens and I could have chosen to just give up and tell them - you are right, I can't do it, it's too hard, I don't really know what I'm doing. But instead I decided to prove them wrong and it boosted my motivation up I decided to say:
" I know it is not going to be easy, I might not know what I'm doing but at list I'm trying to do something. There might be 99% that I'm going to fail but for that 1% of succeeding and for a long process of learning I am willing to try".
What am I trying to do? Succeed, Learn and maybe even help others by sharing my failures and success...
What I would ask of whoever get to read this blog is, if you start something and no one believes in you - DON'T DARE TO GIVE UP! If you believe in you it doesn't really matter what others think. If you know someone that is trying to do something try to let go of your judgmental ways and just support him, not because you have to but because you might not get it but it wont cost you anything to support someone and it might mean everything to that person.
So, to those who doubt me , I still love you but I WILL PROVE YOU WRONG, it would have been great to have your support but I don't NEED it...

First Day - Creating a Blog

Today is very exceptional because of the amount of posts.. But as it is the beginning there are a lot of steps need to be taken..  So the first step is creating my blog, I chose Blogger to do it because it is for free and is very easy to use. I tried using Wordpress but I found it more complicated specially for people like me with no skills when it comes to the internet.

So to sum up what I learned about blogging today is that free blogging accounts have a lot of terms and conditions and that if you want to make great amounts of money it's not the way to do it. The main reason is you don't have full control over your blog and you are bound to the terms and conditions which usually includes not being able to actively promote anything.

Steps to make money out of blogging:
  1. Think about a theme for your blog - something you can write about everyday.
  2. Post regularly - Some say that if you post at list four times a week your blog will clime up the google searcg pretty fast - We will see about that.
  3. Get people to read your blog (generate traffic)  - social bookmarking sites, social networking sites where you can and build a profile which contains a link to your blog, writing free articles for article directories with a link to your blog at the end. There are some software's that are meant to generate traffic but they cost money and I haven't tried them out yet.
  4. Get money from your blog-
    1. Google Adsense (display contextual ads that your visitors will be interested in to maximize your CTR - click through rate).
    2. Pay Per Post and Review Me- websites which pay you money for reviewing a product or a website.
    3. Review/Recommend other people's products and get money from the commission
    4. Ad space on your blog - but this one is relevant only after you are more established.
    5. Sell your blog- after it is more established and generates a lot of traffic.
So I already acted against the first advice of not creating a blog at a free-blog website. As I read the terms and conditions of this blog site I couldn't find any limitations, it is easy to use as I  have no skills, it is free and for now it best suites me. Maybe with time I will figure out if it was a mistake or not but for now this blog will do.

As for the steps - I am now working on the second and third steps. I posted the link on my Facebook page and on my Twitter page, sent an  email with the link to everyone I know and now I'm on my way to create a Community-Group on Facebook.
I found a post about how to create one which was really useful so here it is:

So this is the fan page I created!

First Day - Choosing a Goal and Deadlines

First Deadline - Get revenues from this blog before my 25th birthday (19/02) .

Commitment - Write everyday

how to make money on the internet?

Hello everyone!

First of all, let me introduce myself, My name is Hila and I just finished my B.A in Business administration and International relations. I've been looking for a job for over a month, and I haven't found one partly because my demands are problematic, I was expecting to find a job where I could gain experience in marketing and advertising and make a lot of money at the same time. Let me tell you, a combination like this is hard to find. I sign in for a few websites for job seekers, I have a profile in LinkedIn, I used all kinds of connections but no results. I was called for a few interviews and although some of the jobs offered where interesting the payment offered was so low I just couldn't except it. If you read so far you probably understand that I'm not one for compromising. So I went back to the drawing table and started thinking about ways to make money, while looking for a job, this is the list I came up with:
  • babysitting- not really that much money.
  • being a waiter- Just the title of this job makes you antagonize it.
  • bar tending - Kind of  a cool job, I still might do it just for fun and until I will find a way to make money from the internet.
  • Make money from the internet - Sounds AMAZING but how do you do it?
So as you can see the best way I found was through the internet but the problem is I have no idea how to make it happen. First thing I did was to write in Google "How to make money from the Internet", apparently there are a lot of ways, the first website I read and that made me write this blog is this one:

http://www.101waystomakemoney.com/how-to-make-money-selling-e-books/

Every day from now on, I will write about  trying to make money, it is really easy to follow people who already made it but with them you don't really know how to start, what is real and what is just advertising.. This blog is meant to make you a part of my journey, I will share my experience in trying to make money out of pretty much nothing. It would be great to get comments and recommendations.

So the first step towards making money today was to start writing this blog. Lets see where I will get from here.
